Punjabi Singer Diljit is ready for his debut in Punjabi movies with Guddu Dhanoa directed film "THE LION OF PUNJAB" and is being produced by Tanda Films Norway.Star cast includes Diljit Dosanjh, Divya Dutta, Pooja Tandon (Sat Sri Akal/The Perfect Bride fame),Gurpreet Ghuggi, Vindoo Dara Singh, Deep Dhillon, Vivek Shauq and Malkit meet.
It is an issue-based flick, depicting the journey of a villager from his village to a city. Lion of Punjab shows the atrocities faced by him(Diljit) and how he overcomes all of them with his sheer will to succeed.
Music has been Directed by Anand Raj Anand. The shooting of the film has already started and has a three months schedule with its release expected anywhere near August 2010.

"I always wanted to make one, contribute towards the Punjabi cinema and my homeland," says Guddu Dhanoa. After making 23 bollywood flicks, Guddu Dhanoa has now decided to make a Punjabi movie, which is a good sign for the Punjabi Film Industry as it will give impetus to Punjabi films.

earlier, Sonu Sood was chosen for the lead role but was replaced by Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, as Dhanoa says "Sonu Sood had to be replaced by Diljit Dosanjh, a Punjabi singer, as for people here only hit singers make hit actors."
The locations for the shoot of this Punjabi films have been finalised and shooting begins soon !!!
