After spending the past few years working behind the scenes in the bhangra industry from his studio in Southampton, G-COMPANY, real name Gurwant Singh Grewal (Gee) is now ready to unleash his solo debut album entitled 'Folklore'. Featuring seasoned vocalists such as Ashok Gill and Tanveer Gogi, new and upcoming vocalists Arif Khan, Nirmal Chauhan and Amarjit Singh have also been personally sourced and recorded by G-COMPANY.
On the lyricist front, the ever reliable Bhupinder Bhindi, Laltonwala, Kala Nizampuri, Jagga Singh Gill and Gurmeet Cheema have been utilised.
"I have worked very hard to make an honest album which genuine bhangra fans will hopefully enjoy. With little outside involvement and industry contacts, I have not made this album for a shot at fame, money or bookings, but for the love of bhangra music and to fulfil a life-long dream. Whilst session musicians have been used and credited (see inlay for more details), I have been very hands-on with this album by taking care of the overall music production, playing the tumbi, keyboard, bass guitar, and then mixing and mastering it myself."
